About Us

J & T Group started in the real estate industry in 1998. J & T Group successfully built and sold 24 affordable townhomes on Terrace Avenue in Lynwood. This project was such a success, it led us to expand our products to serve the housing market. J & T Group then built on scattered vacant lots, while securing more vacant land, to develop a multi-housing community. This was possible with a redevelopment agreement within Blue Island. At the same time, J & T Group also successfully built single family homes in Chicago Heights, Robbins, Sauk Village, Lynwood, Crestwood and Flossmoor.With a proven track history, J & T Group became a premier, affordable quality builder in the Southland Chicago area with a history of zero foreclosures during the great recession from 1998 to 2011 which includes the great housing collapse.

2008-Current

J&T Group is continuing to help restore southern cook county communities who have gone through severe hardship by restoring abandoned properties and providing a chance to become a first-time homeowner even while going through tuff situations relating credit and financial issues.

Meet Our Team!

Tom Koerner

President, J&T Group

I have over 35 years in the affordable housing market. I began my career in the lending industry working with first-time homebuyers specializing in FHA/VA products. This experience led me into the marketing/selling and building new construction homes and land development in South Suburban Cook County. By having this unique background, my passion has been to serve the needs of each municipality in the real estate industry.

I have authored many redevelopment agreements with municipalities where there was a need for affordable, quality housing. I take a wholistic approach to blighted properties as well as vacant land and have successfully closed over 500 properties in 7 different communities. Currently there is a tremendous need to address the blighted, vacant homes in the Southland.

I have multiple redevelopment agreements with different municipalities to assist and successfully overcome this issue that plagues many Southland municipalities today.

J & T Group on several homes. I have also worked with past clients to create a home that is custom to their design style. Working within a budget can be tough, but I look forward to the challenge. I then am able to present choices for light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and tile choices that will compliment your style.

You are also able to make the following choices: Cabinets, Flooring, Countertops, Paint, and Color, I truly look forward to working with you. Together we will make a house your home.

Aiden Messlein

Media Consultant/Photographer, J&T Group

I’m Aiden Messlein, a media consultant and up-and-coming photographer. I’m 15 years old and currently a high school student, and I’m really excited to be working with the J&T Group. Though I’ve only been in the field for a few months, I’m passionate about media and photography and eager to bring my fresh perspective and skills to the team.

While I’m new to this industry, I’ve always had a strong interest in helping out the communities near me. I’ve been learning a lot about how media and photography can play a key role in shaping perceptions and telling stories that highlight growth and development.

I’m dedicated to expanding my skills and look forward to contributing to the team at J&T Group as I continue to grow in this field.
